One More Week!

Well, hello there!

This semester went by so fast and I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am about that. Many of us are taking finals this week; luckily, I only have two exams to deal with - I took the other three last week and Oh. My. Gosh. I thought I was going to die! I literally pulled three all-nighters in a row and slept a total of 9 hours between Monday & Wednesday. I just love to procrastinate. How does one ever change that? Never mind, I know how, I just prefer to do other stuff and leave the important things 'til the end. Some of my finest work is produced during extreme pressure, and while I know that I should get a head-start, I just can't seem to get that motivation going. I can sleep when I'm dead, or on the weekend - whichever comes first. Just to give you a little idea, this is what last week was like for me...

Monday & Tuesday, except with short dark hair and in bed...

So, then I realized that I'd rather go through a zombie apocalypse than write that one research paper I had like 6 weeks to do... But no, why do that when I can stay up for 27 hours straight and submit it 8 minutes from the deadline?!

Then, Thursday rolls around, I am in full zombie mode, still have one final to take, and Dr. Anderson is all chipper... :-) Don't get it wrong, she's my favorite. So much my favorite that I am taking all of her four classes next semester. PS I love Elf, it's my favorite movie!

I still have two more exams this week and then it will all be over for five beautiful weeks!

During that time, I will be enjoying the beach, the sand, and the sun in the Caribbean for seven days... Go ahead, it's okay to be jealous - I know I would be.

I'll be here, if you can get a hold of me!

Cayman Islands

Hoping to snap a picture like this one too!
Cayman Islands

Is it the weekend yet?

Clearly, those are not my pictures. But since I have not been to neither of the above places, Google was kind enough to provide me with such imagery. I will post my own when I get back home... Sometime next year!

But wait, I'm not done sharing my 2014 Winter Break plans...

As soon as I get back from the fabulous cruise, I'm getting on a minivan with my loves to drive to New Mexico (Bear Max & Lolita can't fly, so we have to drive every time the furkids travel with us) to visit the in-laws, our friends, and to get some wedding stuff done. I think I am most excited about the 1st Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater/New Year's Eve Party that our friends are hosting. It will be so much fun and I just cant wait. I'll post pictures of that too!

I'm not sure when I will have a chance to update you with my own Caribbean pictures and adventure stories, so I would like to wish everyone a beautiful holiday season with your family and loved ones, and since I'm a Christian, I can't leave without saying Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

“It’s real! It’s happening! Oh shit, we’re getting married for real!” Ha ha ha! I could not be happier J I am one lucky gal and I am so blessed to have finally found “The One…” He is all mine and I get to keep him forever.
Forever and ever. Amen!

Weekend of Fun!

Hi everyone!

If you are reading this, I clearly survived the first week of tests… I was so stressed out I almost cried yesterday. School had never made me feel this way before, but I think that now that I know that my future is at stake, I take my education extremely seriously and I was having a nervous breakdown. Until yesterday, I had completely underestimated four of the five psychology exams I took. I did well on most of them, but there is just test that I am not so sure about.

Dr. Anderson, if you ever read my blog, I would like to apologize for the poor writing skills on Wednesday’s test. I am so embarrassed to have turned in what I did; but I promise myself that I will do way better on the next two exams.

Lesson learned? I am not super woman and I do not have a photographic memory anymore. I need to study. Study, study, study…

Ok, enough about school; the doctor already gave me a prescription for a happy pill that should take care of that issue J #StillWinning! Oh, and Olivia Pope is back, bitches!!!

I am so excited for this weekend, I cannot wait to get out of work so I can head to the airport and get on a plane that will take me to what will hopefully be my new home: Albuquerque, New Mexico J Yes, the land of Walter White. Most importantly, the land of the man I love and I am soon to marry. Have I ever told you how super awesome this man is? He is super awesome and he makes me the happiest woman on earth every single day. I LOVE YOU, MICHAEL! Yesterday was a very special day, it was Mikey’s 32nd birthday. Happy Birthday Baby!! He flew out to ABQ yesterday so he could have a fabulous Friday with the boys playing golf, tailgating, and watching the Lobos’ game. Go Lobos! My plane lands tonight, so the party won’t start ‘til I walk in, of course J I can’t wait to get there so I can give him a hug and a ton of kisses; but also to celebrate my man’s birthday! We are getting together with our awesome group of friends at a local brewery and believe me when I say I just can’t wait to have a beer!

Now let’s get to the most important part of our trip: Santa Fe, NM.

Mike and I will spend Saturday in this magical place visiting two prospect venues to host our wedding reception. I am hoping we can decide on a place so we can finally set our wedding date and get the ball rolling on the rest of the wedding things, such as invitations, flowers, goodie bags, food, and wedding cake – my favorite part!

So, for now I will leave you with only that much info because that is all I know J There is so much more to talk about, but I won’t do that to ya J At least not now… ha ha ha J

Have a great weekend, I know mine will be so much fun!!

Go Lobos!

I'm Still Here, I Swear!

Woah! I just looked at my last post and realized it's been a long time... I'm still here and I think about updating my blog often, but then life kinda gets in the way, ya know? Since my last post, I've traveled twice - to Big Bear and New Orleans, started five (yes, five!) classes, adopted a puppy, Lolita, and continue to work 40 hours a week... Ugh, I just tired myself out thinking about it! Oh, but wait, that's not it. I also have the awesome ongoing task of planning my wedding :-) Now, if we could only set the final date, my life would be a little easier. But more about that later, maybe on a Bermudey Wedding post ;-)

Now, Lolita, oh my God! I am totally head over heels for that little firecracker, I mean puppy! Ha ha! We had the pleasure of welcoming her into our family thanks to the help of the amazing people from the French Bulldog Rescue Network. Lolita is an eleven month-old French Bulldog baby girl that was surrendered by her family in Norman, OK - Go Sooners! I am sure that taking her to FBRN was not an easy decision, but that little girl was meant to be ours. She and Bear Maximus look like twins. Bear adores her and I have never seen that crazy doggy be so gentle before, I keep saying he's in love... Oh, puppy love. Now I know what puppy love looks like. Anyway, she will be turning the big 1 on September 23, so I am planning her little birthday party. I guess I should also add that to the list above, huh? Ooophf!

Mandatory pic at the TX-OK border. Welcome home, Lolita!
Texas Dreamin' - on our way home!

Totally crazy for these two! Lolita Pomp & Bear Maximus

You like those pics, dontcha?!? :-)

In the midst of all things, I have also started five psychology classes: Cultural, Social, Stats, Cognition, and of Older Adults. I can't wait to be done with this semester; not because I don't like it, but because I will be going on a week-long cruise to the Caribbean as soon as I "walk out of school." Then, wait for it, wait for it, I will be in New Mexico for at least two weeks. We will be taking the pupsters, so it will be a road trip. Have I ever mentioned I love taking road trips!
So, I am still here... There is so many wonderful things going on in my life that I feel like the days are way too short leaving no time for many other activities I would like to do, such as frequent blogging. For now, please enjoy the pictures because I sure did have an awesome time while taking them!

Hope you enjoyed the pics. Love y'all!

Homie Needs Our Help!

Hi everyone! It's been a very busy week for me: I need to take a test tonight and also finish a psychology literature review that I was so not prepared for. Procrastination does not pay off, so I am working hard to stop that bad habit. Some things are better off left for another day, but not the test or the lit review. Thanks Dr. Woods! I kid, I kid!

Anyway, enough about me. I am taking a few minutes off my busy day to help spread the word about our friend Homie the Frenchie. He fractured a leg in two places and the cheapest way to fix it is by amputation. His human needs help raising the funds in order to avoid this measure, and because I love my Frenchie more than life itself, I am taking on this medium to reach out to as many people as I can. Thinking about my Bear Maximus in pain brings me to tears, so I can only imagine what Homie's human dad is feeling.

If you can find it in your heart to donate a few bucks, please do so - we would do the same for you...

*** Please make your donation here and leave him a few nice words too. The world will find a way to pay you back! ***

Homie thanks you in advance :-) Isn't he so adorable? Those ears, I swear!

Homie the Frenchie

And just because I share pictures of my Bear Max every chance I get, here he is again...

Bear Maximus - I love you so much, my puppy!

*Any resemblance between these two is pure coincidence.

Happy Fourth!

Hey you guys! There’s just one more day ‘til some of us get to enjoy a three-day weekend! Lots of fun activities are ahead – hanging out with the family and friends, enjoying some ice cold beers and watching the fireworks from the distance. This coming Fourth of July will mark what I like to call the “2nd Annual Giants Fest.” Our friends Brandon and Heather are super nice (and super tall, thus the term giants) to host a party at their house and I am lucky to be on the VIP list (or so I like to think). Last year the party didn’t really have a theme; it was just a fun house party with lots of friends and tons of beer – we had to do a beer run early in the afternoon bc we were thirsty! However, this year’s party has a theme. Wait for it, wait for it… “Texas Trash” or what I like to describe as “Texas Trailer Park Trash,” maybe?? Don’t ask me what that means because I am not from Texas, but I did get here as fast as I could. My attempt at this “Texas Trash” costume involves a pair of True Religion denim cutoffs that I found at the Salvation Army, a Walmart tank-top, white bikini top, and my Nike Dunk Sky Hi wedge sneakers. Let’s not forget the accessories and my mason jar mug. Boom!

Anyway, just want to wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July, but most importantly, I’d like to give thanks to those who made our freedom possible – you are my heroes! ‘Murica!!

There's Always a First Time for Everything!

Hey you guys! I am brand new to blogging and am not really sure what to expect, but I think it will be a fun way to share my thoughts on the things and places I love with the rest of the globe. I am lucky to be part of a generation that can connect with many people from around the world, so why not take advantage of it, right? I guess blogging is similar to keeping a journal/diary, and to be honest, I've never been interested in doing so.

In case you are wondering what the name of my blog means, I will start by saying that I always have a hard time describing myself. I am far from conventional. I like to follow my own rules and do things own my own accord (unless I'm at work). I think of myself as a free spirit who believes that we choose our own destiny. I believe in the man upstairs, and I think that we have been given so much wisdom that we have no idea what to do with ourselves. But anyway, enough of that. Unorthodox Bliss is the quickest way to describe myself. I am unconventional, stubborn, nonconformist, and my life is full of happiness. I am blessed to have amazing people and one super loveable French Bulldog in my life and I love them with all my heart!
